What have you taken from Mark's speech?

This thread is a collection of what lessons people got from Mark's speech....
As for me, I vividly got these lessons from his mistakes:
- Have your personal office not a cubicle (remember the crying woman story?)
- There's always a bright day after a dark night (re to his lay-offs and .com crisis)
- Not to make companies with your friends if you can

That it can be a good idea to start a business in an area that you think you will be profitable, rather than simply joining a larger company in that same area.  You might be able to accomplish more of the goals that you want to see happen.
